We don't think there's ever been a year when so many custom Vossen projects have come from Europe instead of the States. But the Miami wheel specialists now have representatives in Britain and Switzerland now, so we shouldn't be surprised.
This has also been a great year to be a fan of German performance compacts. Despite the rise in popularity of the SUV genre, many people still want to buy small coupes and powerful hatchbacks.
Obviously, the RS3 isn't the hot topic of discussion that it was last year. It's been criticized for having lackluster handling and typical quattro understeer, but it remains one of the most impressive hatchbacks ever made.
Forget about the Focus RS, we want this thing in America, and not just as a sedan. Because power goes to all four wheels, the CVT alloys that were designed for the RS3 are all the same 20-inch size. The Metallic Gloss Silver finish only serves to further bring out the dullness of the black paint. We would have gone for red or green - something that pops. It's a 367 horsepower Audi for goodness' sake.
Even though it suffers from the same sin of paint dullness, the BMW M2 looks better in its custom configuration. But maybe silver just works well with a sleek, muscular coupe that looked right even before entering its M configuration.
In this case, the alloys chosen are the VFS-1. Unless we are mistaken, that's a design which is several years old, one of the first we've featured. But it's every bit as classy as the forged CVT.
Just based on the coupe versus hatchback thing and the promise of endless sideways thrills, we'd pick the M2 as our favorite Vossen-equipped vehicle of the day. But feel free to let us know which is your favorite with a quick comment.
