This week BMW officially launched M Performance Accessories for its BMW F10 M5 LCI model and they include a couple of small add-ons as well as full-on game changers.
If there’s one thing most people complained about on the current M5 that would be the engine sound. Compared to its predecessor, the new 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 is a small, distance memory compared to the S85 5-liter V10 unit on the E60.

Therefore, the one way to compensate for that mishap is to add an aftermarket exhaust. The choices are already pretty diverse but BMW is now offering its own system, made by Akrapovic, as part of its M Performance Parts line.

Other new parts include BMW Black Line rear lights that are opinion splitting to say the least, while the exhaust pipe finishers can be had in either carbon or titanium guises. The Carbon Ceramic Brakes should be a drastic improvement considering that the car weighs close to 2 tons in the first place and people will take it to the track occasionally, where there will be a huge need for impressive stopping power.

The carbon fibre mirror caps, M Performance stripes and new front grilles should also be mentioned but they don’t bring an improvement in performance as they do in terms of visual strikingness.

As for the interior, you can now have your pick out of two brand new BMW M Performance steering wheels (both covered in Alcantara, one with race display, one without), a new set of BMW M Performance floor mats and carbon fibre trims for the gearshift lever and the surrounding areas.

All of these are available online, on BMW's website catalog for M Performance Parts but you should know that they cost a pretty penny. The Carbon Ceramic Brakes, for example, are $10,000 alone and that’s not something anyone can pay.
