BMW USA wants you, the customer, to know that having your cake and eating it too is actually possible thanks to the EfficientDynamics technology used on all the M cars out there, which allow for the ideal combination of fun and frugalness.
Their new campaign put too high an emphasis on the 1-Series M Coupe, which has been sold out, and the M3 GTS which besides being a racing car for the road also uses dated technology by BMW standards. However, the new M5 and M6 do actually deliver on this promise, both being more efficient by about a third compared to their predecessors. Still, the M5 will most likely be subjected to gas guzzler tax.
