Today’s launch of the BMW M235i Driftmob video had an ulterior reason behind it. The Germans didn’t just want to show off the skills of the 5 drift champs in the shots but they also wanted to introduce a new website, aimed directly at the most faithful aficionados out there.
Part of BMW.com, the #BMWStories section is dedicated to everyone out there that shows love for his BMW. In the company’s own words: “Each and every BMW is associated with individual experiences. Here you can find out more about other people’s BMW stories. Or become part of this special driving pleasure and tell us about your own personal BMW experience.”

At the top of the website are a couple of videos and photos of older models but as you’re scrolling down, you start to get in contact with the more recent side of things. After the M235i is introduced, you get into the taboo section represented by the X Series.

For any old-school BMW lover, those are the most sacrilegious models ever made. Forget about the abominations with the letters “GT” on the back and forget about the Gran Coupes, for them, the worst part of BMW’s brand dissemination is making SUVs. With front-wheel-drive models coming on in a few months, there just might be a new niche out there that is even more hated.

Last, but not least, as you scroll even further, you get in touch with stories shared by the BMW community worldwide. People from around the world can make it on this website by using the #BMWStories hashtag. They are immediately noticed by BMW and the best photos/stories are picked to be showcased on the website. So, what’s your BMW Story?
