Since electric cars started to make a name for themselves, owners have been intrigued to see how they perform in a straight-line race against their traditional rivals, ICE (internal combustion engine) automobiles.

The trend evolved especially after electric or hybrid know-how was invested into cars like the Tesla Model S or the BMW i8. All of a sudden, people started to build a rivalry between these two particular cars, which we think it's not necessarily useful.

Sure, it's fun to watch to very capable green cars going neck at neck in a drag race, especially when the BMW i8 can deliver 362 HP and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint achievable in 4,4 seconds.

But here comes the Model S in 85D guise, and its 422 HP allowing the sedan to go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in the same time frame: 4,4 seconds. However, that's what theory tells us, but there's no mention of how fast the two green cars are in the 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) interval.

Before letting you watch the video, we'll just add this: both the i8 and the Model S 85D can reach a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). On that note, we hope watching the video below just got more interesting for you, so enjoy.

P.S.: Despite the video saying the Tesla is a Model S P85D, those who posted the clip mentioned this in the description: "Guys sorry for the confusion. The title in the video is wrong. It is the modified Tesla Model S 85D not P85D."
