While I have to admit that seeing the fiery red entrails of a racing Akrapovic exhaust is truly fascinating, I doubt this is how a BMW HP4 should look like.
Such extreme heating alongside the exhaust headers and silencer usually occurs because of the engine running with too rich a fuel-air combination, and petrol escaping unburned from the cylinders is ignited beyond the valves.
As the headers heat up and become burning red, fuel ignites even more easily, and the whole thing is almost self-sustaining... provided the rider throttles on.
Some fuel tuning or engine remapping could be a good idea before damage occurs.
