BMW’s M235i is still ruining pants all over the world, as we speak, being probably the best performance car the Germans launched since the M3 CSL and not developed under the Motorsport division’s moniker. However, there’s always room for improvement, as we found in our review.
While on the engine/transmission front we couldn’t find any flaws, some were pretty obvious related to the handling and chassis setup. The biggest one is the suspension that could’ve been drastically upgraded to offer more stability in corners. We do have a slight suspicion though, that BMW did this on purpose, to leave some room for the full-on M2 that is due in 2015.

The car was spotted testing several times by now but most of the times it looked like an M235i with a wider body kit that wasn’t even properly camouflaged. This time, though, we spotted the car wearing full-on camouflage and a Valencia Orange paint, in Munich.

An Autogespot spotter was lucky enough to meet up with it and had his camera close. There are some differences to be pointed out here though, that make us rather uneasy.

In our previous set of photos, the car was spotted on the Nurburgring with quad tail pipes at the back, pointing to the upgraded 3-liter twin-turbo engine that is supposed to make around 380 HP and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. This time, the car was spotted with just 2 pipes, like the M235i. Hopefully, this doesn’t mean that there’s been a change in the hp output.

Other than that, we already know the M2 is scheduled to begin production in November 2015 and the only thing we need know now is a price tag and some performance specs. If the Motorsport guys manage to keep it light, it could give the M4 a run for its money.
