BMW F10 M5 Crashes in Germany, Takes Grass with It

Driving powerful cars might seem extremely fun at first but along with great power comes great responsibility and when you have 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of turbocharged torque things can get out of hand in the blink of an eye.

That’s what the driver of an Estoril Blue BMW F10 M5 found out the hard way in Germany last week, when he lost control of the car and ended up wheels up in a ditch, taking a hefty amount of grass along with him on the way.

By the time the car stopped (and by the looks of things, it rolled over more than once) it was totaled, with every part of its body being wrecked in the process. The airbags deployed but we have no info about the number of people that were in the car at the time of the accident or if they made it out alive. By the looks of things, there were no casualties.

This, once again, goes to show that while rear-wheel-drive cars are fun and extremely entertaining on the track, they are also extremely dangerous on public roads when handled wrong. That’s why driving schools such as BMW’s or any other accredited one are more than recommended before even ordering such a car. It’s better for everyone.

In this case, the car went off the road into an empty field and only the people inside it possibly ended up hurt but sometimes, innocent bystanders or other cars on the road can also be involved, possibly leading to downright tragedies.
