After the BMW Group claimed 5 GOOD DESIGN Awards this week, the DesignworksUSA subsidiary was also praised by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design with no less than 8 such awards.
The awards went to the US branch of BMW’s design team because they had the opportunity to work on other things rather than just automobiles.
The ASRock M8 Mini Gaming PC received an award for its “language of strength and ultimate performance demonstrating extreme efficiency and big emotion”, the BMW i Wallbox was praised for “its holistic, innovative charging concept”, the Dacor Discovery 30” Wall Oven user interface was appraised for its interface whilst the Hello oral care line (also designed by DesignworksUSA) “is the world's first line of seriously friendly™ oral care products with a distinctive product design, developed to elevate the everyday.”
Other products were also noted, each going home with an award, products like the Mercury Marine Electronic Remote Control (a cable-less variant of a shift and throttle control for the Mercury engines), the Premec Chalk Pen, PRIMA Cinema player and Varian Edge Radiosurgery System.
