BMW Motorrad has announced the official launch of motorcycle production at the Rayong plant in Thailand. So far, the Rayong manufacturing plant will only produce the BMW F800R, which will be initially sold in Thailand only.
BMW officials have mentioned that the bike will most likely be exported to other markets in the Asian region, helping the Bavarian manufacturer establish a stronger presence in that part of the world and keep the prices lower.
The Rayong plant is part of BMW's global manufacturing network which includes no less than 28 locations in 13 countries, all working to put together BMW, Mini and BMW Motorrad machinery.
According to the same source, the first BMW F800R machines will be delivered in Q1 2014. Motorcycles are new to this manufacturing plant, as its 278 employees delivered 6,065 vehicles last year: MINI countryman, BMW 3 series, BMW 5 series, BMW 7 series, BMW X1 and BMW X3.
