BMW Considering 3-Series Diesel for the US
According to BMW’s sales and marketing boss, Ian Robertson, the answer to the aforementioned question has many chances of being “yes”. Speaking at the US launch of the F30 3-Series, the executive told Inside Line that the diesel infrastructure in the country is making progress and that the public is starting to change its view on the matter.
Robertson admitted that the clean diesel technology would also help the company meet the upcoming CAFE fuel efficiency standards.
The public might still use traditional car-buying pathways, but if we consider that the new 3-Series is already unconventional in terms of engines, using smaller-displacement turbocharged engines only, diesel could be an option in the future.
