BMW Motorrad announced the new features for the 2014 version of their successful adventure-touring big-bore machine R1200GS. Changes will affect both the standard equipment and the options list.
These modifications affect mostly the riding modes, and the for the 2014 model, the existing 5 modes will no longer be available as an optional extra. "Rain" and "Road" modes will eb available as standard alongside the ASC feature. A steering damper will also be standard as of 2014, and this is really great news.

On the options list we see a new "Pro" mode with additional mappings: "Dynamic", "Enduro" and "Enduro Pro", all three coming with updated ASC and ABS. Dynamic ESA (active suspensions) can now be ordered separately regardless of the riding mode of the bike, and it brings suspensions springs painted in white.

BMW also adds that any option can be ordered separately except for the on-boards computer Pro. Finally, there will be some changes made to the "Dynamic Performance", "Comfort" and "Touring" packages, but it looks like these modifications will be made public later.

The base price (in Germany) for the new BMW R1200GS is €14,400 ($18,785).
