German carmaker BMW has just revealed pricing information on the two new models that are set to arrive in the US dealerships on the heels of their North American debut at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. Therefore, both the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 and the 5 Series GT will be available beginning December 5, 2009 with a base MSRP of $89,725 and $64,725 respectively, including Destination and Handling.

The BMW ActiveHybrid X6 boasts the new BMW two-model hybrid technology and comes with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 and a number of standard features which are optional on the X6 xDrive50i. These include a new 7-speed automatic transmission, 20-inch aero wheels with mixed-sized performance tires, extended nappa leather (including the center console and dashboard), rearview camera with top view and head-up display.

The combined output totals 480 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque, according to official figures provided by BMW. Thanks to these settings, the X6 Hybrid goes from naught to sixty in 5.4 seconds and is capable of reaching a maximum electronically-limited speed of 130 mph (210 km/h) - only for the US market. The new X6 releases only 231 grams of CO2 per kilometer and is powered by a 2.4 kWh NiMH battery pack.

As for the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, the car is fitted with the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which provides a maximum output of 407 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This allows the 550i to sprint from naught to sixty in 5.5 seconds, and keep on accelerating until reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
