In the light of new allegations, surrounding a 9 Series model that would be positioned above the 7 Series, renderers around the world started working on how they think the new model should look like.
One of them was the man behind CVKDesign, 0smet Çevik, a Turkish industrial designer that’s also passionate about automotive design in his spare time. His latest creation is called BMW Sportback Concept and it looks as if it was based on the 7 Series but appealing to a different crowd.

Of course, at the moment, the car he drew doesn’t have a spot in BMW’s line-up, it’s place being taken by the 6 Series Gran Coupe, a four-door coupe that has a traditional boot at the back instead of a tailgate like the Audi A7 or this concept, by the way.

The front fascia is a a BMW without a doubt, with massive character lines swooping down from the windshield to the big kidney grilles up front, flanked by compact headlights using LED strips to remind us of the corona rings Bimmers usually have.

The lower part of the front bumper features big air intakes to the sides that resemble the ones found on more recent SUVs from Bavaria while around the side, the sloping roof line makes this Concept a coupe-like car.

Round the back, the boot lid’s shape seems inspired by the E63 6 Series created by Chris Bangle while the LED strips inside the taillights are actual and reminiscent of the 7 Series alongside the big exhaust tailpipes.

Huge wheels and side gills on the front fenders couldn’t miss alongside the Hoffmeister kink on the C-Pillar, making this a true BMW, even thought the overall shape could’ve been better.

As far as becoming a reality, this Concept might have to wait a few more years, until the F06 Gran Coupe goes out of production, at least. Maybe then, we could see something more radical coming out of Munich. Until then, let’s enjoy this imagination exercise.
