Cars are a big part of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, without them the game would've been a bore, no doubt. The problem is that most of us would've wanted real-life cars inside this virtual world but legal issues prevent Rockstar from actually using scale models of real automobiles.
However, as anyone that ever played GTA and is a car enthusiasts noticed, the cars they create resemble those we see on the street everyday, especially those that have distinctive designs.
In GTA 3, for example, there was the Banshee, a car based on the Dodge Viper that was, without a doubt, the fastest in the game. Even though it had a different name, we could still recognize the vehicle it was based on.
Now, another instantly recognizable car shows up in the latest GTA game, the 3 Series Convertible. In the fifth title of the franchise, this model is dubbed Sentinel XS but it's easy enough to recognize it. It lacks the kidney grilles at the front but the shape of the headlights reminds us of the 6 Series and the front bumper is definitely copied after the E93 Convertible.
As you go along playing this game, it's hard not to notice other cars too. You'll easily spot the F620 based on the Maserati Quattro Porte, the Bullet GT, based on the Ford GT and many many others. A great game for gearheads out there!
