Drifting is one of the coolest sports ever. Yes, we know, some people will beg to differ, telling us that drifting shouldn’t be a sport. Well, ladies and gentlemen, that’s true. Drifting is not a sport. Wait, wait, automotive fans - don’t start practicing throwing rotten tomatoes yet, as what we wanted to say was that drifting is more than a sport. It’s pure awesomeness.
And so is the BMW 1 Series M Coupe (and so are tall, slim girls, but we can’t talk about that here). So, what happens if you combine the two? The answer to that question is simple - the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts.
You see, BMW decided to officially drift the 1M Coupe. On a helipad. Which is located on top of a building. A building that is 1,018 feet tall. Enough juice for you?
And to make things even more interesting, we’ll tell you that the building in question is the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles. Oh, and there’s another detail: it’s the tallest building in the world that has a helipad.
Now we can’t tell exactly where the border between real world crazy, precision driving and computer play is in this video, but you can see how the rear axle of the 1M Coupe gently touches the last inch of the flat surface the car sits on.
We know the 1M Coupe is easy to drift, but the video takes things to a whole new level. Enjoy!
