New data surfaces in the extreme rage road Manhattan Brawl case as police and press start delving deeper in the background of this disturbing event. It appears that Edwin Mieses, the severely injured rider had no valid Massachusetts driving license and even more, his driving right had been suspended until 2017.
Mieses got severely injured when Alexian Lien made a run with his Range Rover, temporarily escaping the bikers' assaults. According to the Boston Globe, Mieses applied for a learner's permit in 1999 and 2000 but never got a full license.
That apparently happened because he did not pay the multiple fines he received, the Registry of Motor Vehicles states. The same source adds that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender, who was ticketed in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire on no less than 16 occasions since 1999. As a consequence, his driving rights in Massachusetts had been revoked until 2017.
Mieses is currently hospitalized with multiple wounds, with his wife saying he could be permanently paralyzed. He and Alexian Lien seem to be the only ones who reached the hospital, even though Lien was treated for facial wounds and released. Witnesses to the beating Lien received have also published two photos you can check after the jump.
