The two will have a special date at the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game that is scheduled to take place in Anaheim, California. The Original Monster Truck will arrive at the event in style (Chevy style, to be more precise), as it will be dressed in a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado body. The monster truck has even changed its name to MLB BIGFOOT.
Like we said, the giant is sensible, as it has also accepted to have a new powerplant. But don’t worry, we are not talking about a gentle giant. Oh no. The creature will use a 540 cubic inch (15.3 liters for European folks) Chevrolet V8, which will have a special sidekick in the form of a two-speed Powerglide transmission.
Of course, this is nothing but a marketing cake with a marketing icing. So let’s see what the ingredients are. The mutual partner is Firestone Tires, which is collaborating with both Major Leagues Baseball and BIGFOOT. The whole thing has been created as a special treat for Chevrolet, which is the official vehicle of the MLB.
The MLB BIGFOOT will be set free in Anaheim on July 7.
"We think this is a great opportunity to bring three American icons together - Chevrolet, baseball and the Original Monster Truck," said Silverado Marketing Manager Tony Truelove. "We're glad to be a part of it."
