We recently had some Bentley SUV curiosities, so we sat down with Bart Gerris, Regional Director for Europe and Tom Housley, PR Manager Europe, talking about the Crewe’s upcoming SUV.
We wanted to know how much different the Bentley SUV will be to the other VW Group vehicles based on the same platform, such as the future, second-generation Audi Q7.
While it’s obvious that the styling, as well as the interior bits, will be unique to Bentley, we sought explanations about the vehicle as a whole. Among others, we were told that “80 percent of the vehicle will be unique to Bentley.”
Of course, the figure doesn’t just refer to bits and pieces that will be exclusive to Bentley, as it also includes parts with unique calibration. As am example of this, we’ll mention that Audi developed the new 4.0-liter TFSI twin-turbo V8 together with Bentley, with each company getting is dedicated parts, such as the intake and exhaust.
We’ll extend the Bentley SUV chat in our exclusive interview.
