British luxury car brand Bentley has just announced the launch of a new free iPad app that is meant to deliver exclusive multi-media content on the new Continental GT. So those of you who missed the 2011 Continental GT live at this year’s Paris Auto Show can always get a glimpse of the model on their iPad.
The new Bentley iPad app catches the styling of the new 4-seat coupe with both portrait and landscape images formatted to optimum screen resolutions. The images are downloadable or can be shared with friends with just one simple click.
A unique range of Continental GT driving footage and behind-the-scenes multimedia movies from Bentley’s styling studios, test track and special ‘insider’ views from the factory floor are also being offered.
There’s also the opportunity to take a closer look at the Mulsanne, Bentley’s new luxury flagship, as well as catching a flying glimpse of the company’s Continental Supersports.
“In addition, users can take a longer and more leisurely drive through the Bentley story. The app will guide you through the company’s long and victorious association with racing at Le Mans, offer a detailed introduction to the unique skills of the craftsmen and women who fashion cars like the Mulsanne as well as the vast array of classic monochrome images from the past,” a company statement reads.
The 2011 Bentley Continental GT comes with an upgraded W12 engine that delivers 575hp and a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) that has been tweaked to deliver improved acceleration times throughout the rev range.
The vehicle has a starting price of 135,760 pounds ($189,900 or EUR154,600 at the current exchange rates). The first customers will receive their vehicles in the first quarter of next year.
