Most people avoid replicas of modern cars because they are rarely up to the visual standard of the actual car, let alone the technical and performance sides of the matter. However, FGP from Germany, have designed a Ferrari California kit which can be easily installed over the chassis of the donor car. What is the donor car, we hear you say?
Well, it is actually a very promising one - the pre-facelift Nissan 350Z, built between 2002 and 2008. This means that the basis for what should be a very sporty car is, well, a sporty car, with the engine at the front and all its power transmitted to the rear tires.
The company says that the €6,499 ($8,150) kit can easily be fitted by anybody with some mechanical knowledge, as the an official statement from the company said "you should have knowledge about cars to do this conversion, but you do not need to be a welder or mechanic to do it good and fast [. . .] The Kit is designed to complete it even for beginners within maximum ONE week (plus painting). We developed this kit to build easy, fast, with fun and no extra investment."
The €6,499 price tag, however, doesn’t include anything aside from the car body, and if you want stuff like the headlights, replica wheels and an interior kit which replicates that of the real car, you will have to pay extra - we just don’t know how much, yet.
