Beijing 2012: Chrysler 300 Ruyi Design Concept

Back when the previous generations Chrysler 300 made its debut in America, it was a must-have item for any rapper and gangster. Now the 2012 model is making its way to the land of... dragons and communism, and a special concept was unveiled at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.

This is the new Chrysler 300 Ruyi Design Concept and its name can be translated as “as one wishes”. The concept features special Maximum Steel exterior color, with added dark chrome trim from the Mopar division.

The Ruyi rides on special 22-inch deep concave wheels and hugs the ground thanks to a bespoke body kit.

“We celebrate our reentry into China with a vehicle that symbolizes an auspicious beginning for the Chrysler brand,” said Saad Chehab, Chrysler LLC’s President and CEO. “By integrating our distinctive American design and technology with timeless Chinese inspiration, we are looking to attract an emerging set of customers who are driven and dare to be different. We look forward to gathering the reaction of Chinese customers to the Chrysler 300 Ruyi, to surprise them with future models incorporating elements that we can see today in this design concept.”

The 300 sedan, together with the Grand Voyager MPV, marks Chrysler’s return to the Chinese market.
