The movie is about a year and a half away from being released, but we can already reveal what Batman's epic new ride looks like. These shorts of the Tumbler's successor were taken in Detroit during a recent shooting for the movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. They show a futuristic take on the Batmobile, one that will probably make every comic book fan happy.
Director Zach Snyder's vision of the caped crusader is completely different to the one of his predecessor, Chris Nolan, who gave us a realistic crime fighter. The man behind the mask has also changed, as Christin Bale give up the black cape in favor of Ben Affleck, who's 6' 4" (1.92 m) figure is better suited for the role.

From Gotham crime deterrent, the famous automobile now looks like it's been designed for an enemy from outer space. Bring on Darkseid and his minions!

Detroit's streets have probably seen every type of automobile in the world, but nothing like this. The new Batmobile is as futuristic as the Kryptonian space vehicles from Man of Steel. Coincidence? Not really, Dawn of Justice is all about bringing all of DC Comics' greatest heroes together to fight a world-ending villain.

Just like the Tumbler that came before it, the 2016 Batmobile takes on the role of a war machine, covered in armor and packing heavy machine guns on the front.

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is slated to hit theaters on March 25, 2016. It's said to pick up from where 2013's Man of Steel left off. Ben Affleck will play the role of Batman(Bruce Wayne) and will be joined by Henry Cavill playing a returning role as Superman (Clark Kent) and Gal Gadot from the Fast & Furious franchise as Wonder Woman.
