B&B Squeezes 362 HP Out of the Golf R
However, for those who feel that the 270 HP Golf R isn’t enough, Volkswagen Group specializes tuner B&B now offers 3 solutions, depending on the level of lunacy desired, as automobilesreview reports.
B&B has prepared a tuning program for the Golf R, available in 3 stages: 310 hp, for drivers who just want to have the psychological comfort offered by more power, 324 hp, for people who take things a bit more seriously and 362 HP for the ones who really like to enjoy their life behind the wheel regardless of its length.
In this latter incarnation the hatch offers a blitz 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h, rivaling cars like the Porsche 911.
All this power comes through the use of a bigger turbo charger, a revised air intake, an improved intercooler, a sport exhaust system and, of course, a new electronic management software. To keep things safe under the hood, B&B also offers a slim-line oil cooling system.
Handling wise, the car benefits from the use of sport springs which lower it up to 30 mm. A new 8-stroke braking system has also been installed in order to cope with the power increase. The B&B Golf R rides on bespoke 19- and 20- inch rims.
This car is definitely mean, but don't even consider mentioning that it outperforms the 300 HP Focus RS, as the Ford comes with its own top tuned version, which posts an even greater power figure than the B&B Golf R.
