Awesome RYNO Electric Unicycle [Video]

The story of its conception is a very intriguing one. It was apparently conceived by the 13 year old daughter of mechanical engineer and inventor from Portland, Chris Hoffmann, who had 15 years experience in the auto industry. His daughter saw a single-wheeled motorcycle in a video game and asked her dad whether it was actually possible to build something like that. Hoffmann spent 5 years developing the RYNO, steadily improving his prototypes until he was left with a model that could do 20km/h (12.5mph) and was perfectly controllable.
Currently, plans are underway to improve the prototype, raise its top speed and give it disk brakes and improved software. Plans are to bring the RYNO to the market some time in 2013 at a price around €3,500($4500) - we can’t wait!
