AVA Swift 250, the Modern-Retro Cafe-Racer
The bike retains all the glorious styling for the machines used back in the 60s, but is loaded with more modern, updated technology. Van Anz claims the bike should be the sum of old school, retro design, modern technology and a low price tag, thanks to the fact that it will be built by the Chinese manufacturer Loncin.
This new “old” cafe-racer will be powered by a 249.44cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine and will weigh under 200 lbs (90.6 kg), which is absolutely fantastic. Given the fact that Van Anz claims it will be road-legal in the US and will most likely be able to carry a weight greater than its weight (a passenger up to 165 lbs or 75 kg), with the optional pillion fitments.
Given the expected price announced, $3,950 (€3,075), we can only hope the AVA Swift 250 will show some American or European finish and building quality. For nobody will be eager to ride a cafe-racer which looks cheap and has “poor China manufacturing” written all over it. Seen on Motorcycledaily.com
