AV8R. Three letters and a numeral. This trademark doesn't make much sense on its own, but when you put a Ford and a Mustang before AV8R, the crystal ball turns clear, offering a glimpse of what's to come – a one-of-a-kind S550 generation Ford Mustang.

Fingers crossed Dave was only bluffing with that poker face negative. But that's not the 'Stang I want to talk about right now...
While we were searching the US Patent and Trademark Office's database, we discovered that an all-new Lincoln Aviator (A-V-eight-R) may be in the making, along with an AV8R Ford Mustang. Both trademarks were filed on January 6th. Futhermore, the AV8R nameplate was filed in 2008 as well.
Rewind to mid-2008 and the Blue Oval presented the world with the one-off pony you can admire in the gallery below. Is it a coincidence the company filed a second time for AV8R? We don't really think so. As such, prepare yourselves for a one-off sixth-gen Ford Mustang that will be sold at this year's EAA Gathering of Eagles fundraiser. Simple as that we reckon, unless the Ford Motor Company is cooking something else.
Other than an aeronautics-themed exterior makeover, expect the upcoming AV8R Mustang to be a fastback GT, 5-liter Coyote V8 and all, that will be enhanced by various Ford Racing bits and bobs such as a handling package, a supercharger and so forth. Furthermore, a panel that will be signed by aviation legends and Hollywood stars may also be featured to hike the bidding hype. You know how crazy fundraisers can be.
