Pedigree of the Brands - A Different View of the Story... ...Many of us own cars which come from rather famous brands. Plenty of times, even if you hate to admit it, the badge is the main reason to look at a certain car and, in the end, it's the decisive reason in actually choosing the "perfect"model. OK, there ... We were a bit surprised by the popularity of the new Dacia Duster Concept, so we decided to test if the enthusiasm was real. For this purpose, we put together a poll in which we let users express their opinions on Dacia's first crossover.

Our poll question was as straightforward as it gets and so were our possible answers. The “Would you like Dacia to build a series production version of the Duster Concept?” met overwhelming positive response from 51% of our respondents who said “Yeah, the Duster seems like the kind of car I would buy.”

Twenty-four percent of our user admitted they had no idea what we were talking about and rhetorically asked “What is that, a new vacuum cleaner?”.

Thirteen percent were ok with the concept itself, but despised the name and suggested a new one is necessary to make it more attracting.

Quite a radical departure from the usual “Yuck, is that a Dacia Logan?” attitude, only 10 percent of the respondents said they wouldn't buy one and admitted “it would only collect dust in the showrooms.”

For those of you who forgot, the Duster Concept is Dacia's first ever crossover, if you don't count some ill-fated inhouse projects from the 1980s. A combination between a compact SUV, a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and a hot-hatch, the Duster actually depicts a future production model that might get built by Dacia starting with 2010.

As Alex Oagana said, the production version's only things in common with the Duster Concept might remain its four round wheels, the overall size and architecture and probably some interior ergonomic ideas.
