Audi R8 V10 Gets APR ECU Tuning

The Audi R8 has received a tuning gift from the US, with APR developing a Stage One ECU remap for the V10 model. APR explains that the 5.2-liter FSI (direct injection) V10 powerplant comes with a Bosch MED9 Engine Management System that has been detuned from the factory “to prevent the R8 V10 from stepping on the toes of other exotics in the VAG 5.2L FSI V10 lineup”.
The company (obviously) mentions the Gallardo, when offering the new output of the engine. The unit, which offers 526 hp at 7,750 (a dyno run showed 1 extra hp, compared to the official specs) and a peak torque of 395 lb-ft (535 Nm), is boosted to 559 hp at 7,950 rpm and 411 lb-ft(557 Nm).

The aforementioned specs are for 91 octane fuel, but if 93 octane fuel is used, the engine delivers 583 hp at 7,850 rpm and 431 lb-ft (584 Nm).
