Audi Q7 Gets 3.0 TDI 204 HP Engine
The 3.0 TDI, paired to an eight-speed tiptronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive, develops, as said, 204 hp and 450 Nm of torque just above idle, in between 1,250 and 2,750 rpm. The unit consumes only 7.2l of fuel per 100 km (32.6 mpg) and emits 189 grams of CO2 per km.
The low fuel consumption figure has been achieved by adding a start/stop system to the engine, which stops the unit from running when the vehicle comes to a stop. An energy recuperation system is also present.
The performances of the new engine are impressive, given the size of the Q7. The SUV equipped with this unit is capable of accelerating from naught to sixty in 9.1 seconds. The top speed for the version equipped with optional air suspension is 205 km/h (127.38 mph), while for the Q7 using steel suspension, the fastest speed is 202 km/h (125.52 mph).
The Q7 will come equipped with two-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning, a high-beam assistant, and an MMI radio multimedia interface. As options, customers can add climate-controlled comfort seats, a panoramic glass sunroof, an electric tailgate, and a load-securing kit with rails for cargo.
Off roading in the SUV is being eased by the use of an off-road mode and a hill-descent assistant, while double wishbones made of aluminum guide the wheels.
The German manufacturer set the price for the new addition to the Q7 line at EUR51,800 in the home market ($72,080).
