There have been talks in recent years about a coupe version of Audi's Q7 SUV, which would be aimed squarely at the BMW X6, which basically has all the market share to itself - it is the vehicle which created it, so it is only fitting.
However, up until now, Audi had been tight-lipped about the new sporty coupe-esque SUV, expected to be called the Q6, and we had no idea when and if they were planning to launch it. Now, courtesy of automobil-produktion.de of Germany, we have some new info on the car.

Apparently, it will be called Q6, and it will be launched in 2016. Furthermore, it will be underpinned by the running gear of the next Q5, which is set to debut in 2017, and will feature a similar array of engines. A sporty version of the Q6 is also expected to make its debut pretty early, after it goes on sale.

It is also expected to start at €39,000, which is around €3,000 more than the the current Q5.

Audi needs to get the Q6 right, if they stand a chance in the sector, and we hope that in the years they have at their disposal to develop it, they will have changed their questionable styling direction, so that we can finally have the great interiors, with equally impressive exteriors, because current Audis just don`t look the part to us.
