Audi Q3 to Debut in Frankfurt?

Audi Q3 is basically the only model in the Germans' lineup that raises enough questions to catch our attention every time we hear its name. One of the unknown topics on the future model is the launch date and, until now, voices familiar with the matter revealed several auto shows for the release of the car. If until now most people were expecting to see the Q3 show its face this year at the Paris auto show, new information suggests that the Q3 might after all be presented in Frankfurt, with sales to begin in the last months of the year, in October or November.

Of course, technical details remain secret, so we have to deal with the same rumors pointing to multiple engine configurations with power output to go in between 140 and 200 horsepower.

The Q3 will be manufactured in Europe at Audi's plant in Spain, so the Germans have already invested approximately 300 million Euros to prepare the production lines for the upcoming mini SUV.

"We are counting on this Spanish site’s efficiency, the excellent quality of the Production department, and its highly trained staff. We will use the Group’s synergies to sharpen our competitive edge and help protect around 1,200 jobs. The decision furthermore safeguards workplaces at other Audi locations," Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management at Audi AG, said in 2010 when the company made the decision to build the car in Spain.

The factory will have a production goal of 80,000 cars per year but, depending on the demand registered in the first months of availability, production could be increased to up to 100,000 cars per year.
