Audi Q3 Pulls Off Extreme Sideways Parking Stunt in Canada

Everybody knows how tough those underground parking lots can be for the driver of a large SUV. You've got tight spaces, limited visibility and all sorts of hazards coming out of nowhere to ruin your day… and paint.

Knowing that most SUV buyers feel claustrophobic in car parks, Audi Canada decided to show that life can be a lot easier if they chose to buy the Q3 compact 4x4 model from their dealerships.

The commercial was recently released in the land of the maple leaf and shows the Q3 driving at a 45 degree angle into a parking spot that would otherwise be too small for it. How does the driver get out afterwards? Though the trunk… obviously.

Audi Canada also revealed how the video was shot in a separate clip. The Q3 is actually placed on a special ramp and pushed into the parking spot. However, some people have argued that this could really be done with a smaller car that has very small overhangs.

Is this misleading advertising? Maybe, and since it promotes dangerous driving, it can never be shown in the US. But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy watching it.

The Q3 is old news in Europe, where Audi has been offering it for four years. But it's only now making its way into North American dealerships as a 2015 model year vehicle. This premium alternative to the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V is built on the same platform as the old A3 compact and boats a spacious 5-seat interior, 473 liters of cargo space, higher ground clearance and available quattro all-wheel drive.
