Audi has announced the introduction of the A5 DTM Champion, a special edition model that celebrates Mike Rockenfeller’s success in the 2013 DTM drivers’ championship.
Scheduled to be built in just 300 units, the A5 DTM Champion will be offered as €1,900 package and features a fixed body-colored rear wing, aluminum-like exterior mirrors, 20-inch 5 V-spoke design aluminum wheels, and DTM badges on the door sill trims, fender and the side sills.
The A5 DTM Champion goes on sale starting October 21 and can be ordered in three exterior colors - Misano Red, Daytona Gray and Glacier White. Engine choices include the 2.0 TDI quattro (177 HP), 3.0 TDI quattro (245 HP), 2.0 TFSI quattro (225 HP), and 3.0 TFSI quattro (272 HP).
Mike Rockenfeller is the new Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters champion as of late September, after driving his Sport Team Phoenix Audi to a second place finish at Zandvoort. The German has 142 points to his name with only one race left this season and can’t be surpassed by BMW’s Augusto Farfus.
