Audi A4 Rules Germany...

- Audi A4 diesel sales amounted to 16,000 units

| German bestseller A4 will be available in the UK |
The latest Audi A4 accounted for almost 40 percent of German Audi sales, with no less than 16,000 units being diesel versions. Audi A4 sales contributed to the one million milestone the company surpassed in 2008.
The A4 also got some technical upgrades and is now available with S tronic dual-clutch transmission, which joins the existing tiptronic, multitronic and manual ones. The new seven-speed S tronic transmission is a week old on the A4 and it is fitted longitudinally in the car to provide sportier and more fuel efficient performance.
S tronic debuted in the Audi TT 3.2 quattro in spring 2003 and it combines the advantages of a compact seven-speed manual transmission with the qualities of a refined and modern automatic.
In the A4 range, the lowest CO2 emissions belong to the 2.0 TDI version, contributing to a 13.39 percent overall reduction in output for this particular range, the best year on year improvement of any large model range on sale in the UK in 2008.
Audi claims its entire range did well last year, with the Audi A6 also topping its segment with 45,304 registrations. The second generation Audi TT found as many as 10,630 German customers, making the advanced aluminum hybrid model the most successful sports car in Germany in 2008.
