Audi A3 1.2 TFSI Is Surprisingly Economical in Britain
For example, the cheapest A3 you can buy in Britain is equipped with a 1.2-liter TFSI petrol making 105 PS. That's the same as an A1, Polo, Golf, Fabia or Polo out there… at first glance.
However, a statement made by the UK division of Audi today says the A3 1.2 TFSI is much more than meets the eye. They say that its re-engineered 1.2-liter turbo engine is more than capable of moving at a brisk pace while also providing amazing fuel economy.
The base A3 with that engine and a six-speed manual gets from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 10.3 seconds, 0.7 seconds quicker than before.
Diesel-like economy figures of 57.6 mpg UK on the combined (urban consumption 47.9 mpg · Extra urban consumption: 64.2 mpg). While not falling under the 100-gram per kilometer mark, CO2 emissions from just 114 g/km are a substantial improvement as well.
Prices in Britain start at £17,905 OTR for the base SE manual variant and rise to £22,760 for the range-topping S line.
