Aston Martin to Use Mercedes-Benz Engines?
According to Bloomberg, Daimler AG - owner of Mercedes-Benz - and Aston Martin are in early talks on supply and technical-cooperation agreements to help the British sportscar manufacturer reduce spending on developing new models. Negociations also involve Aston Martin owners Investindustrial Advisers SpA and Investment Dar Co., said a Daimler spokeswoman.
No decision has been made yet, but if the partnership is signed, Aston Martin could source Mercedes-Benz engines for its own use and even share some platforms with the Stuttgart-based automaker.
One of the first Mercedes-Benz platforms to be used by Aston Martin could be the one underpinning the SLS supercar, Autocar reports.
