Aston Martin Lagonda Confirmed for Middle East Only

As if you needed any more proof that it’s good to be rich, feast your eyes on the all-new 2015 Aston Martin Lagonda. Not only will Aston Martin be building its “super saloon” in limited quantities with sales occurring only in the Middle East, buyers for the car will be handpicked by the Gaydon, UK automaker.

Handcrafted in the same building previously used to construct the Aston Martin One-77, the Aston Martin Lagonda blends the classic, timeless style of the William Towns-designed 1976 Lagonda with the modern carbon fiber body and VH platform of current Aston Martin products. There are no details about the Lagonda, but last we heard it would have a wheelbase that is four inches longer than the Rapide and feature a 6.0-liter V-12 under the hood.

The best look we get at the 2015 Aston Martin Lagonda is the above shot that reveals the cars impressive proportions. The long hood and short decklid give the car a stunning look, while the upright grille and the slit-like headlights are obvious throwbacks to the original Lagonda. More importantly, the new Lagonda has a long, flat roofline that should make for a more useable rear seating area than what the coupe-like roofline of the Rapide affords.

More than beauty or performance, though, the Aston Martin Lagonda is all about exclusivity. So much so that the old saying “if you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can’t afford it” doesn’t even apply to this car. Even if you have the money, Aston Martin assures that sales will be on an invite-only basis when it goes into production next early next year. As such, pricing is confidential, but the automaker alludes to the fact that these cars will be just as expensive as we would imagine them being.

Resisting the temptation to use the Lagonda name on an SUV, which seemed to be a sure bet for a while, ensures that Aston Martin allows the name to remain on a vehicle it has come to define, a four-door super saloon.
