The of Aston Martin’s sports and supersportcars have been bestowed with the power of the dragon in order to appeal to Chinese consumers. Based on the DBS, Virage and V8 Vantage S models, the British carmaker handcrafted the Dragon 88 Limited Edition models on the occasion of 2012 Auto China in order to demonstrate their customization might.
As the name suggests, the customization program will be limited to just 88 cars built to order, built to celebrate the dragon, a mythical symbol in for the Chinese that can also symbolize wealth. And as you’ expect, gold is used for accents around the exterior and interior, most notably on the front badge.
"The stunning Dragon 88 sports cars – hand-built by our world-class craftspeople in England – reflect the design flair and technical excellence of the luxurious Aston Martin brand," said Dr Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin CEO said.
"I am very happy to be able to present these iconic cars on the world stage here in Beijing, and I and my staff in China look forward discussing them with visitors to the exhibition. This is the first time we have participated in a major automotive show in China since our wholly-owned subsidiary, Aston Martin Lagonda (China)Automobile Distribution Co., Ltd., became our general distributor in China in summer 2011," added Bez.
