Phone. Smartphone. Cheaper than a supercar, luxurious, eccentric and pretty good-looking, the licensed Aston Martin 808 phone should be the next best thing, maybe next to owning an Aston Martin One-77 hypercar. It’s not here yet, so you could start saving for when the time comes.
Here’s the deal, you can dream you'll have a great car, spend most of the time working hard for it, or become one of the thousands of people who buy related accessories. None of these, however, will ever turn you into some British spy. Don’t get us wrong, we too would spend all our money to get one hour with the DB10 Daniel Craig is driving in Spectre.

The car’s chassis may be based on a modified version of the VH platform that underpins the V8 Vantage, but that doesn’t make it any less attractive. Heck, that wheelbase has been stretched out like on the One-77, not to mention it has a 4.7-liter engine that just makes the grand tourer glow.

Nevertheless, we can’t but imagine how driving it feels like. Until that moment comes - if that’s ever going to happen - let us check out this smartphone instead.

According to CNET, the Aston Martin Racing 808 is a certified smartphone that will hit the market sometime in December.

The price starts at $6,000, although an 18-karat gold and diamond version will also be available, with figures reaching an impressive $30,000. Oh, yes, people, we’re stepping into the land of the fortunate right about now. But is it worth the cash?

The phone features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, a decent 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of onboard storage. In terms of visuals, we’re looking at a 4.7-inch display with a 1,280x730 pixel resolution, while a sapphire glass screen is making sure things stay safe and sound. The list of specs continues with a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2,000mAh battery, and dual-SIM LTE support.

As far as we know, we’re not dealing with spacecraft technology here, so we figured it must be the design that really matters. According to the source, the entire rear is covered in leather, while the exclusive phone’s case is made of metal. The top speaker is wrapped in a ceramic shell, which the manufacturer claims will help reduce radiation.

Is it anywhere close to its direct competitor, the Vertu? Well, we’re going to have to wait until early December to find out.
