Even though the all-new Ducati Monster 1200 is not yet a well-established presence in all the markets around the world, so aftermarket add-ons and accessories are rather scarce, Italian manufacturer Arrow is already taking pre-orders for a top-notch high-performance exhaust system for the bike.
The Race-Tech silencers are the first Arrow designs with a diamond-shaped cross-section. The special shape allowed the Arrow engineers to retain the internal volume of the cans for consistent performance, while actually reducing the overall dimensions of the silencer.
Ducati Monster 1200 users are able to pre-order the Arrow Race-Tech silencers in no less than four flavors, with the canister made from carbon fiber, titanium, aluminium or “dark aluminium”. Al four silencers are equipped with carbon fiber end caps, and the internals are made from TIG-welded stainless steel elements. The internal design of the canister reduces exhaust gas turbulences and the negative effects of counter-pressure, boosting engine performance in terms of both power and torque.
For riders who want their new Monster 1200 bikes to retain the EU emissions regulations, Arrow is also offering a catalytic converter kit, sold separately. A special-design midpipe joint for stock collectors is available, too. Each Arrow Race-Tech exhaust includes a removable dB-killer baffle for better noise control in certain situations.
The Monster 1200 and its better-equipped version 1200S have been introduced earlier this spring, and is a new addition to Ducati’s line-up. Powered by the Testastretta 11° L-Twin desmodromic valve 1,198cc engine, it is capable to produce 135 hp and 118Nm (87 lb-ft) of torque, figure which are sure to improve after installing the Arrow exhaust. The Ducati Monster 1200 comes with Riding and Power Modes multi-mapping, ABS traction control, ride-by-wire and is ready for the anti-theft and Ducati Data Analyzer systems.
