Plenty of fans are getting fired up about the kick off to the 2014 NCAA Football season this week, but it looks like one fan in Fayetteville, AR may have taken things way too far. Early this morning, Arkansas starting quarterback Brandon Allen was awakened by his car alarm only to find that his Chevrolet Avalanche was completely engulfed in flames.
Although the incident is still being investigated, 5News reports that the police believe Allen’s truck and two other vehicles were intentionally set on fire this morning. The truck eventually rolled out of the driveway and into a ditch across the street where it continued to burn. 5News has a video report and some images showing the damage to Allen’s truck as well as the property where it had been parked.

From the vehicles involved, it would appear that Allen was specifically being targeted. About two and a half hours before Allen’s truck was burned, another Chevrolet Avalanche in the neighborhood was also set on fire. Based on the addresses given in the 5News, Google Maps shows that the two residences are only about a mile away from each other and both show white Chevrolet Avalanches parked nearby. This other vehicle is shown above in the image circulating on Twitter alongside a Toyota Prius, which also sustained heavy fire damage.

Unfortunately, Allen isn’t a stranger to his truck being targeted by vandals. Last year, his truck was egged following a loss to Mississippi State that was sealed when he threw an interception in overtime. This is definitely not the way the 21-year-old junior quarterback wanted to start his week. On Saturday, the Arkansas Razorbacks open their 2014 with a road trip to No. 6 Auburn.
