Aprilia Reveals Max Biaggi’s Replica Bikes
The Aprilia SR 50 scooter and the Aprilia RS 50 and RS 125 motorcycles are now available in the same livery as the Aprilia RSV4, that made a strong debut this season, as Max Biaggi secured four podium placings.
Over the two decades since Aprilia joined the racing world, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer gathered 33 world championships and 267 GP wins in the 125 and 250 classes. This year marked Aprilia’s return to the Superbike World Championship (in which the brand clinched 8 wins, 8 pole positions and 26 podium placings from 1999 to 2002).
APRILIA SR 50 Scooter
Originally launched in 1992, the Aprilia SR 50 was the first sports scooter, the first scooter offered as a race replica version, the first with a liquid cooled engine, the first with double brake discs and the first 50 cc with electronic fuel injection.
APRILIA RS 50 Motorcycle
The model is an entry level model and offers 14-year-old riders access to a first motorcycle sensation, with its aluminium frame and swingarm, lightweight wheels with split spokes, radial front brake calliper, 2-stroke engine and analogue/digital instruments worthy of a much larger engined motorcycle.
APRILIA RS 125 Motorcycle
The compact, ultralight RS 125 is the perfect choice for the 16-year-old riders, ready for their first racing experience: the frame and swingarm are both derived from Moto GP experience and made from ultra-stiff aluminium. An upside down front fork, the front brake with radial calliper with four, horizontally opposed pistons and the wheels with split spokes are testimony to the bike's racing character.
The pricing for the bikes is yet to be announced, but one thing is for sure: they will be available in dealerships later this year.
