Applus IDIADA iShare EV is Ready for Car Sharing in Europe

Car sharing schemes will slowly give themselves a firm foothold in Europe, and the rest of the world, due to the excellent idea behind the concept - it would definitely solve some of the problem faced by the continent’s larger and more congested cities.
Now, a new name is about to make its debut - the iShare, designed and built by Spanish consultancy firm Applus IDIADA, which already has some experience in the field of EVs, having designed and built a prototype for a green people-carrier/minibus.

Now they have moved to something smaller and even more practical - a two seater, specifically designed to be used in car sharing schemes. It is similar in concept to Renault’s Twizy, except for the fact that its two seats are placed side by side, instead of one behind the other.

We currently have no specs or additional details, but what we do have is a short official presentation video. Keep in mind that the EV shown in the footage is just a prototype, and the finished product may end up being quite different, as it is strictly functionality-driven, with design taking a back seat (despite the fact that there isn`t one).

If it makes into production, it will be a direct rival to both the Twizy, and the ingenious Hiriko Fold, which is also made by a Spanish company.
