It was only a matter of time until the aftermarket parts manufacturers got their game together and came up with modding kits for Italy's best-selling bike, the Ducati Scrambler. The first package arrives also from Italy's Andreani Group and it aims at providing better suspensions and enhanced comfort for the Scrambler rider.
A bike designed by Ducati with a penchant for fashion-aware riders who want to hop aboard a bike that sort of breaks the rules and takes a step on the retro and wild side, the Scrambler can definitely benefit from better suspensions. And this doesn't have to be detrimental to the aesthetics of the machine.

Andreani supplies Scrambler-tailored cartridges that go inside the bike's stock fork legs. These cartridges are fully-adjustable as riders can alter the spring preload, as well as the compression and the rebound. The Andreani upgrade comes with 20mm pistons with increased oil passages and can be had for €480 ($530) plus VAT.

Ducati Scrambler gets Ohlins rear suspensions

The retro-vibe Scrambler receives modern suspension upgrades from the Swedish specialist Ohlins, in the shape of the 46 DR monoshock unit. The same absorber is used on a wide variety of naked motorcycles including the Yamaha FZ family.

A high-performance shock, the Ohlins 46 DR is completely rebuildable, so Scrambler owners installing it will get consistent, long-lasting performance. The unit can be readjusted, re-shimmed, and rebuilt, offering years of top-drawer performance.

The letter codes on this absorber indicate that it offers adjustable rebound damping (the R), while the D tells us that this unit is a pressurized gas one, with the internal reservoir in the very body. Gas and oil are separated inside the absorber by a separating piston. The Ohlins 46 DR rear shock absorber can be yours for €548 ($600) plus VAT.

No news whether this suspension kit will also be available in Ducati dealers or dedicated Scrambler Camps.
