Alonso Would Never Team Up with Hamilton Again

If it were his decision to make, Fernando Alonso would not pair up with former teammate Lewis Hamilton until the end of his career. The two raced for the same team back in 2007, when Alonso switched from Renault to McLaren Mercedes and Hamilton made his debut in the series with the Woking based team.

However, Alonso left the British team after one season, as he believed the team was favoring Ron Dennis' – team principal at the time – protege in the championship. Despite the feud between the two drivers, Alonso always stated that his problem was not with the young Brit, but with the unprofessional British team.

However, when asked if he would team up with his former colleague in the future, Hamilton told the media in Spain that he would have no problem racing alongside Alonso once again.

I would have no problems being Fernando's teammate again. I don't have any issues with him. I think he is a great champion and a great driver,” said Hamilton, before this weekend's European Grand Prix at Valencia.

On the other hand, Alonso made it very clear that he would have a problem with facing Ham as a teammate once again and, unless it's a decision out of his reach, he would be against it.

No. Not if it was my choice after what happened with us,” said Alonso when asked by Britain's newspaper News of the World if he'd like to team up with Hamilton in the future.

If anything, this weekend's race did nothing but strengthen Alonso's negative feelings towards Hamilton, as the Brit passed the safety car in the Sunday race and took advantage of some slow thinking from the race stewards to eventually clinch the runner-up spot in Valencia. The Spaniard hit out hard at the “manipulated” European GP, blaming Hamilton of unfair conduct.
