All-New Can-Am Spyder F3 EFI Spotted with No Camouflage

Though Can-Am has been rather secretive as far as its new three-wheelers were concerned, we’ve got some pretty pictures of an all-new machine for you. And what’s even better, the bikes have been spotted without camouflage, and they look just ready for launch.

The new Can-Am Spyder shows a new name on its side panels, and it reads F3 EFI, while the front grille badge displays a red S. The look of this new Spyder is heavily updated, with edgier lines and frankly – with a lot more automotive vibe than some might find to their liking. The new Can-Am has two clear-lens headlights mounted higher than usually, and we can also see some auxiliary lights in the pics, too, most likely optional equipment.

Turn signals are beautifully integrated into the mirrors, and they are coherent with the feeling of a more massive visual presence, as the new Spyder appears to be a bit taller and chunkier in the mid-section. We can see that the engine comes from Rotax and we expect it to be the new 1,330cc, three-cylinder mill, as the spy photos show a rather wide power unit. Plus, such a supposition makes sense when coupled with the F3 badge…

If this is true, then the new Can-Am could be an 115hp machine, with a 130Nm (96 lb-ft) peak torque, a longer 6th gear and electronic clutch control. The photos show machines both with and without a clutch lever, so we can expect at least two “flavors” when it comes to the transmission.

Brembo brakes seem standard, and we can also assume that the exhaust was developed together with Akrapovic, since the two companies announced last year they would be collaborating for new models. Obviously, many other high-tech features such as new stability control and other things which are common in recent Spyders care surely in. We’ll bring you news as it emerges. How will this new Can-Am fare against the Polaris Slingshot is however, a different matter altogether, even though these machines seem to address different buyers.
