All-new BMW X3 Official Images Break Cover

A mistake from BMW? Or rather a teaser? It doesn’t really matter, since the photos have already flooded the web.
We can see now unobstructed the shape of the taillights and of the engine hood. The images are likely to come from the design development process and they emphasize some of the characteristics of the new X3, codenamed F25.
The taillights are clearly an evolution of the current model’s lights, but also more X5 oriented. In a similar way to the larger model, the red light units are interrupted by thin white stripes. The taillights are featuring LEDs as all the new BMWs.
The all-new BMW X3 will have slightly larger dimensions, to clearly distinguish itself from the smaller X1. The growth in size won’t be too pronounced however, since the model has to slot in between the X1 and the X5. As seen from various spyshots, the overall appearance of the car will remain pretty much the same as the existing one.
The car will feature a more prominent grille, along with new wraparound headlights to give the X3 a completely new face. Word is BMW will use better quality materials on the inside in order to face tough competition from the Audi Q5 and the Mercedes-Benz GLK.
No details yet on the engines, but the X3 is expected to use a 3.0-liter twin-turbo unit (like the one in the 335i). A 2.0-liter turbodiesel with at least 204 horsepower is also in the cards.
The car will be produced at BMW’s plant in Spartanburg, USA, along the X5 and the X6.
