The third generation of Italy's favorite workhorse is ready to take the European commercial vehicle market by storm. Offering improved capacity, more economical power units than its predecessor and funky styling cues, the latest generation Daily appears to have what it takes in order to take on the big boys from this highly-competitive segment.
Iveco has been a key player in the history of commercial vehicle transport for more than 35 years and that really shows when you take into account the sheer number of Dailys currently on European roads.
Like his predecessor, the new Daily still uses a classic ladder frame chassis structure for greater configuration versatility. Three body versions will be available at launch: the classic panel van, the heavy duty chassis cab and the comfortable minibus version.
By reassessing wheelbase, overall length and the length of the cargo bed, the 2014 Iveco Daily's load capacity has been improved, leading its segment in terms of cargo efficiency (11 cubic meters model) and volume (18 and 20 cubic meters models).
The Italian manufacturer claims all engine options are 5 percent more economical over the previous generation Daily. Better sound insulation, improved handling and redesigned front and rear suspension layout on single-rear-wheel 3.5-tonners sum up what else you get with the 2014 model.
Iveco's third-gen Daily will be manufactured in Italy and Spain. Expect to see it in a showroom near you starting June 2014.
