Honda is one of the biggest automakers in the US, where people usually don’t want to go any lower than a Civic. But in other countries, especially in the ASEAN region, Honda is big… on small.
Two months ago, a new Fit hatchback went on sale in Japan and this is already the number one selling vehicle there, ahead of any Toyota for the first time in about two years. Honda has talked about this major new car before it was launched, and they said there would also be a crossover and a sedan version.
We know about the crossover, since it's been revealed (Vezel "compact SUV") will go on sale next month in Japan, but not the sedan. According to the latest reports, Honda’s new B-segment sedan will be revealed on Monday, November 25th, 2013. It’s a global product, so it will be shown in India, but also in Malaysia, where a motor show is going on right now.
The engines will be the same as the new Fit, which means the exciting new .15-liter hybrid with double-clutch technology will be available. India will also have a 1.5-liter DTEC a market-specific engine. Honda will later make a smaller new diesel, which we think will be a 1.2-liter three-cylinder, just like VW’s 1.2 TDI.
